February 19, 2010
The pink shirts, made famous by the Northern Knights during the recently completed HRV Cup domestic Twenty20 competition, are now being auctioned.
To raise further funds for their official charity, New Zealand Breast Cancer Foundation, each of the Northern Knights players have signed one of their actual playing shirts. They are now being auctioned via:
The auction will run for just over seven days with bidding already underway. It is expected that Daniel Vettori and Thilkaratne Dilshan’s shirts will be the most prized ones.
One that will also prove popular is that of Northern Knight’s stalwart, Joey Yovich.
Heather Shotter, Executive Trustee of the NZBCF, says the support from the entire Northern Knights team, management and their fans has been absolutely fantastic.
"A diagnosis of breast cancer affects the entire family and through the Northern Knights we have been presented with a perfect opportunity to spread our messages to the wide-ranging audience that cricket attracts," she said.
