The Knights make it two trophies

It has been 30 years in the making, but the Knights can now proudly display two competition trophies in their trophy cabinet after securing the Plunket Shield yesterday. The Knights led the Plunket Shield table by eight points and only needed to secure first innings points against the Stags in Napier to claim the Plunket Shield, which they did successfully yesterday. The Northern Knights have their eye on first innings points and a Plunket Shield triumph after rolling the Central Stags for 217 and then taking their score through to 75 for four on day one of the Plunket Shield match at McLean Park in Napier. The Northern Knights have made one change for their round ten Plunket Shield match against the Central Stags in Napier. The match, that starts on Monday, sees experienced left arm spinner Bruce Martin left out and replaced by Jono Boult. Jono Boult bowls right arm off spin. Otago take first innings in drawn match

A batting friendly Cobham Oval wicket saw the match between the Northern Knights and the Otago Volts end in a draw with the visitors claiming first inning points.
